Jamesport is a wonderful place to come visit! Not only do we have many annual events, we also have things going on all the time! Here are some things that happen weekly in Jamesport...

Produce Auction

Jamesport is home to the North Missouri Produce Auction. This is the place to come buy or sell farm fresh produce, bedding plants, pumpkins, fall decorations, potted mums and natural grown produce. The North Missouri Produce Auction is a partnership owned by a number of local shareholders who constructed a new facility in Jamesport for the purpose of selling produce. Perishable crops are picked just hours before the sale.

This auction is directed to wholesale buyers, such as grocery stores and farm markets, but anyone who can use produce in boxes or flat lots for canning, etc. is welcome to buy.

The auction will run from April 3, 2009 - October 23, 2009. Here is the calendar for 2009:

Friday April 3. Thursday April 9. Friday April 17. Then each Tuesday and Friday from April 21 - July 10. Then each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from July 13 - August 28. Then every Tuesday and Friday from September 1 - October 16. Then the final day will be October 23.

The auction starts at 10 a.m. on each day except Monday which starts at 12 noon.

Pumpkin Day is September 22. Consignment Auctions are Jan. 3, Feb. 7, March 7, and Dec. 5.

The auction is located just outside Jamesport. At the 4 way stop go east, and it is about 1/2 from town on the left (north) on F Hwy.

Live Music

On Saturday's in Jamesport, you can usually find live music! There is a local band with a hammered dulcimer, guitar, mandolin, and mountain dulcimers that play old-timey music. They are a fun bunch and draw a crowd with their music and laughter! Its a great time! They play from around 1 - 3 pm on Saturdays. You can find them outside next to the Farmhouse Collection downtown when the weather is good, or inside DeVaul Fine Art when the weather is cold or rainy. Stop by and see them! Tell them you read about them on the Internet, they will get a kick out of it!

Carriage Rides

On most Saturdays and festival days, weather permitting, you can find horse drawn carriage rides downtown. You can pick them up infront of Gingerich Dutch Pantry resturant. At just $3 per person, its a great way to see Jamesport!

Cheese Making & Tasting

Every Tuesday from about 10 - noon, at the Homestead Creamery, you can watch the Flory family make cheese! There is a veiwing window to see how they do it. They have the cows right there on their farm and you can see the cheese making process first hand! They also offer free fresh samples every day that they are open (closed Thurs. and Sun.). Stop by and taste some wonderful artisan cheese! (Download our map - they are located east on F, then south on U).

Wine Tasting

Everyday that the Collections is open, you can have free wine tasting of wines made right here in Missouri! Check out there great selection, and taste them all while you're at it! The Collections is located on the north end of the 4 way stop, on the east side of the road.
