Weekly Happenings
Jamesport is a wonderful place to come visit! Not only do we have many
annual events, we also have things going on all the time! Here
are some things that happen weekly in Jamesport...
Jamesport is home to the North Missouri Produce Auction. This is the place to come buy or sell farm fresh produce, bedding plants,
pumpkins, fall decorations, potted mums and natural grown produce. The North Missouri Produce Auction is a partnership owned by a
number of local shareholders who constructed a new facility in Jamesport for the purpose of selling produce. Perishable crops are
picked just hours before the sale.
This auction is directed to wholesale buyers, such as grocery stores and farm markets, but anyone who can use produce in boxes or
flat lots for canning, etc. is welcome to buy.
On Saturday's in Jamesport, you can usually find live music! There is a local band with a hammered dulcimer, guitar, mandolin, and
mountain dulcimers that play old-timey music. They are a fun bunch and draw a crowd with their music and laughter! Its a great time!
They play from around 1 - 3 pm onSaturdays. You can find them outside next to the Farmhouse Collection downtown when the weather is
good, or inside DeVaul Fine Art when the weather is cold or rainy. Stop by and see them! Tell them you read about them on the Internet,
they will get a kick out of it!
On most Saturdays and festival days, weather permitting, you can find horse drawn carriage rides downtown. You can pick them up infront of Gingerich Dutch Pantry resturant. At just $3 per person, its a great way to see Jamesport!
Every Tuesday from about 10 - noon, at the Homestead Creamery, you can watch the Flory family make cheese! There is a veiwing window
to see how they do it. They have the cows right there on their farm and you can see the cheese making process first hand! They also
offer free fresh samples every day that they are open (closed Thurs. and Sun.). Stop by and taste some wonderful artisan cheese! (
